Patrick Shaw
VP, Financial Services Solutions

Patrick Shaw has held a variety of positions in the financial services sector both within organizations and as a data mining consultant. With unique experience in credit risk management, he heads up the company's projects in this area. Adept at scanning the business horizon, Patrick identifies strategic improvement opportunities to enhance business development through a stronger infrastructure. An able motivator, Patrick builds teams that create strong connections between internal and external partners. He has managed the design and development of new financial models and processes to better predict customer profitability and project planning assessments. Patrick holds a B.Com. (Hons) in both economics and finance as well as minors in mathematics and Japanese. He earned his MBA from McMaster University, specializing in corporate finance.

Avi Vardi, PhD
Manager, Simulation and Optimization

Avi Vardi is an acknowledged expert in optimization and statistical modeling. He served as head of the Nonlinear Programming group at SAS Institute and was one of the developers of SAS Operations Research NLP procedure. He has significant experience with applications of large-scale optimization, nonlinear least squares, stochastic optimization, discrete optimization, simulations and models using Markov Random Fields.  Avi has worked in a broad range of implementations including medical imaging (reconstruction and segmentation), supply chain optimization, human resources allocation, and many other complex marketing, engineering, and financial problems. Avi was the recipient of a Fulbright Grant. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from Cornell University.

Alex Boudarov
Professional Services Manager

Alex Boudarov has a wealth of experience as senior architect and technical lead at the cutting edge of the e-commerce industry. He has sixteen years of software development experience overseeing highly visible applications for industry leaders in the banking, insurance, medical and retail sectors. Alexander possesses strong mathematical and analytical skills focusing on stochastic differential equations, numeric methods, derivatives models, and quantitative algorithms. His expertise extends to the latest technologies and languages including Adobe Flex, Vignette, and Java, to name a few. Alex holds a M.Sci. from the Moscow University of Electronics and Mathematics.

Natalie Khutoryanky
Director, Social Sciences Applications

An accomplished mathematical scientist, Natalie Khutoryanky's specializes in applying mathematical modeling to the social and behavioural sciences. At Business Intelligence Solutions, she uses a statistical mechanics approach and Bayesian methods for data mining, survey design, survey data analysis, and data interpretation projects. She has contributed to papers on a broad range of subjects including the behavioural ecology of consumption. She designs methods of calculating predictive outcomes under conditions of complex combinations. Natalie holds a B.Sc. (Summa Cum Laude) and an M.A. in from Temple University and an M.A. in Quantitative Experimental Psychology from the University of New Hampshire. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program (with concentration in biostatistics) at Drexel University.

Dmitry Brusilovsky
President, Canada

Heading up Business Intelligence Solutions' Canadian operations, Dmitry Brusilovsky is also responsible for the customization and integration of data mining models into clients' applications. He has a comprehensive background in applied mathematics, engineering, and data mining consulting. He brings solid expertise in combinatorics and optimization as applied to data modeling.  Dmitry has spent fifteen years in software development taking a lead role in areas such as forecasting, operations research and decision support.
